MUGELLO RACETRACK
The Mugello circuit is 15 minutes from the Poggio degli Uccellini campsite. It is a facility equipped with advanced technologies where cars and motorcycles dominate the scene almost every weekend. Throughout the year it hosts more than 20 events, dividing cars and motorcycles equally. The most important and most famous event is certainly the Moto GP Grand Prix , where the greatest pilots of today compete. In recent years, very significant investments have been made, which have allowed the Mugello racetrack to host and organize private events with a maximum of 350 inviteable people. Staying in our campsite during the events will be your ideal solution.
MUGELLO TERRITORY
Mugello is a historic area of Tuscany located northeast of Florence. It is characterized by a variety of mountains and hills that offer an ideal landscape for those who love typical Tuscan landscapes. But Mugello is not only full of greenery, it has among its wildlife beauties deer, roe deer, wild boars and mouflons. Mugello includes four forest complexes that are part of the Agricultural-Forestry Heritage of the Tuscany Region: Giogo-Casaglia, Calvana, Alto Senio and Alpe. An ideal area for camping!
MOUNT SENARIO
One of the places of certain interest is the Montesenario hill with its sanctuary of the same name. The Montesenario convent is a structure that dates back to 1200 built by seven Florentine nobles, also founders of the order of the Servants of Mary, called for this reason the seven holy founders. The latter is a sort of panoramic tower over the entire green valley, but also a place of art and history. Worth seeing are the Cappella del Santissimo , an important work by Foggini, the Cappella dei Sette Santi , which houses the remains of the Seven Founding Fathers, the Choir , with the eighteenth-century stalls in carved walnut, the convent, with the fifteenth-century cloister and the Medici cistern. You can reach Montesenario in just 6 minutes by car from Camping Florence Poggio degli Uccellini , or if you love walking, you can get there in a half-hour walk through the greenery and nature.
FLORENCE
Florence is the capital of Tuscany and, without a doubt, one of the most important artistic jewels of Italy, thanks to its countless works of art that have filled it with history over the years. This beautiful city has been, over the centuries, home to artists and famous people, such as Dante Alighieri , father of the Italian language. The list of artists does not end with the latter, here have played characters of the caliber of Leonardo Da Vinci , Michelangelo , with his David admired by the whole world at the Galleria dell’Accademia , Brunelleschi , Botticelli and Donatello . As the centuries went by it became more and more important, so much so that it became the capital of Italy, from 1864 to 1871. In the surroundings of Florence, you can visit Fiesole, Empoli, Montelupo Fiorentino, Vinci, Bagno a Ripoli, Pontassieve and Borgo San Lorenzo. The hills around the cities are filled with villas, parish churches, convents that offer one of the most evocative atmospheres in Italy. It is only 18 km from our Camping Poggio degli Uccellini .
VILLA DEMIDOFF
This is one of the largest parks in Tuscany, with its trees, lakes and woods. It takes the name of Villa Demidoff , from the family that bought the Villa inside the park. Entrance to the park is free for all visitors, who can admire centuries-old trees such as oaks, horse chestnuts and cedars. Although many original monuments have been removed, the park still preserves many truly magnificent ones: the Fonte di Giove , the Fonte del Mugnone, the Peschiera della Maschera, the Grotta di Cupido and of course the Colossus of the Apennines. The Villa Demidoff park is located in Pratolino (FI) about 15 minutes by car from Camping Poggio degli Uccellini.

For sports lovers, a few kilometers from Camping Poggio degli Uccellini, you can spend a different day and try your hand at treetop trails, near the splendid Villa Demidoff park . The famous Adventure Park is a popular destination for our guests and offers fun for all ages.

BIVIGLIANO VILLA
Bivigliano’s Villa is an ancient residence of sixteenth-century history, built following a project by Bernardo Buontalenti, who took the castle of the Ginori family and built this splendid work on top of it. The Villa is immersed in 12 hectares of woodland , wanted by the Ginori family, specifically by Federico to use this space as his hunting reserve. Today the Villa is used to host important receptions and weddings, thanks to an exclusive catering service you can organize your event in the best possible way. The Villa is 15 km from Florence and only 900 meters from our Camping Poggio degli Uccellini .
SCARPERIA MAY FLOWERS SHOWS
Scarperia, an ancient medieval village, hosts in the month of May, its most important event, the Infiorata . This floral event brings together most of the citizens who test their artistic skills, creating real works using only the flowers of the area. This event makes the atmosphere of Scarperia very suggestive because the streets are filled with colors and scents. It is a 20 minute drive from Camping Firenze Poggio Uccellini .
BILANCINO LAKE
Lake Bilancino is the most popular summer destination for residents of Mugello. Bilancino is the largest artificial lake in Tuscany . There are beaches equipped with umbrellas and deck chairs just like a real seaside resort. It is possible to practice sports such as windsurfing as if you were at the seaside. You can get there comfortably by car from our Camping Firenze Poggio degli Uccellini in 15 minutes.
SENTIERO DEGLI DEI
The Via degli Dei, also known as the Sentiero degli Dei is a hiking trail that connects the city of Bologna with that of Florence . The trail takes its name from some of the mountains crossed such as that of Monte Venere in Monzuno. The trail was rebuilt in the 90s, giving hikers suggestive landscapes through stretches of 2000-year-old roads. You can reach this trail in 20 minutes from our Camping Firenze Poggio degli Uccellini .
